Dès les premières heures du matin, le groupe “GKM abschaffen” (abolir GKM) bloque le bloc 6 de la centrale Grosskraftwerk Mannheim (GKM). Nous ne voulons pas rester les bras croisés et assister plus longtemps à la destruction et à l’exploitation massives de notre terre et nous voulons donc agir directement là où le charbon est brûlé et où le C02 sale se retrouve dans l’atmosphère.
Nous sommes lié.e.x.s aux journées d’action “Zucker im Tank” et voulons attirer l’attention sur les conséquences désastreuses de la conversion du charbon en électricité, faire comprendre la nécessité d’un arrêt immédiat des combustibles fossiles et mettre en avant les différents enjeux liés à l’extraction du charbon. Nous voulons également offrir une plateforme aux personnes qui souffrent des conséquences de la catastrophe climatique et dont la voix n’a pas encore été entendue dans le débat.
Etant des personnes blanches, ayant grandi dans des pays privilégiés du Nord, nous ne pouvons pas imaginer ce que c’est que d’être directement confronté à l’extraction du charbon dans des conditions inhumaines, à la destruction des logements ainsi que des moyens d’existence. Nous vivons dans une région du monde où les conséquences du changement climatique ne sont ressenties que sous une forme très atténuée, bien que ce soit précisément le mode de vie des pays du Nord global qui soit l’une des principales causes du changement climatique. Ce mode de vie égoïste et capitaliste nous révolte. Tant que notre système économique sera soumis à un fonctionnement capitaliste, qui a pour fondement une croissance illimitée, la nature et l’humanité seront exploitées et les inégalités sociales continueront à croitre. La crise climatique est un problème mondial qui doit être abordé au-delà des frontières nationales et loin des intérêts économiques !
Le GKM fait partie prenante du système économique capitaliste et contribue à la destruction des moyens de subsistance et de la base de revenus des populations de Colombie et de Russie. Les habitant.e.x.s des régions charbonnières souffrent , par exemple, d’énormes pénuries de nourriture et d’eau, ielles ont des problèmes de santé et sont forcé.e.x.s de partir. Tout cela est inacceptable, “les Allemand.e.x.s doivent savoir d’où vient le charbon qu’ils et elles consomment. Et quelles en sont les conséquences” (militante colombienne Luz Angela Uriana Epiayu).
Ce qu’il faut, c’est un changement par le bas, ici, maintenant et partout - sans frontières, sans production d’électricité au charbon et sans rapport de domination !
Il faut bruler les frontières, pas le charbon !

Since the early morning hours, we block as an affinity group “GKM abschaffen” (abolish GKM) block 6 of Grosskraftwerk Mannheim (GKM). We do not want to stand by and watch the massive destruction and exploitation of the Earth any longer. Therefore we want to take direct action where the coal is burned and dirty C02 gets into the atmosphere.
We are linked to the “Zucker im Tank” days of action and want to draw attention to the disastrous consequences of the conversion of hard coal into electricity, make clear the necessity of an immediate stop to fossil fuels and create a public awareness for various problems connected with hard coal mining. We also want to provide a platform for the people who are suffering the consequences of the climate catastrophe and whose voices have so far gone unheard in the debate.
Due to our white privileged biography, we cannot imagine what it is like to be directly confronted with the mining of hard coal under inhumane conditions and the destruction of housing and livelihoods. We live in a region of the world in which the consequences of climate change are only felt in a very weakened form, although it is especially the way of life of the global North that is one of the main causes of climate change. This selfish capitalist lifestyle makes us angry. As long as our economic system is based on a capitalist structure, which has unlimited growth as its foundation, nature and mankind will be exploited and social inequality will continue to be fueled. The climate crisis is a global problem and must be tackled beyond national borders and free from economic interests !
The GKM is embedded in the capitalist economic system and contributes to the destruction of the livelihoods of people in Colombia and Russia. The people in the coal provinces, for example, suffer from enormous food and water shortages, health problems and are forced to resettle. All this is unacceptable, “the people in Germany [must] become aware where the coal they consume comes from. And about the consequences” (Colombian activist Luz Angela Uriana Epiayu).

Seit den frühen Morgenstunden blockieren wir als Kleingruppe "GKM abschaffen" das Förderband von Block 6 des Grosskraftwerk Mannheim (GKM). Wir wollen bei der massiven Zerstörung und Ausbeutung unserer Erde nicht länger tatenlos zusehen und deshalb mit einer direkten Aktion dort ansetzen, wo die Steinkohle verbrannt wird und dreckiges C02 in die Atmosphäre gerät.
Wir sind an die Aktionstage "Aufstand mit Abstand" von "Zucker im Tank" angebunden und wollen auf die desaströsen Folgen der Verstromung von Steinkohle aufmerksam machen, die Notwendigkeit eines sofortigen Stops der fossilen Energieträger verdeutlichen und eine Öffentlichkeit für verschiedene mit dem Steinkohleabbau verknüpfte Problematiken schaffen. Außerdem wollen wir den Menschen, die unter den Folgen der Klimakatastrophe leiden und deren Stimmen in der Debatte bisher ungehört blieben, eine Plattform bieten.
Aufgrund unserer weißen privilegierten Biographie können wir uns keine Vorstellung davon machen, wie es ist, mit dem Abbau von Steinkohle zu menschenunwürdigen Bedingungen und der Zerstörung des Wohnraums und der Lebensgrundlage direkt konfrontiert zu sein. Wir leben in einer Region der Welt, in der die Folgen des Klimawandels nur in sehr abgeschwächter Form zu spüren sind, obwohl gerade die Lebensweise des globalen Nordens zu den Hauptursachen des Klimawandels gehört. Dieser egoistische und kapitalistische Lebensstil macht uns wütend. So lange unser Wirtschaftssystem auf einer kapitalistischen Machtordnung beruht, welches grenzenloses Wachstum als Grundlage hat, werden Natur und Mensch ausgebeutet und soziale Ungleichheit weiter befeuert. Die Klimakrise ist ein globales Problem und muss über Ländergrenzen hinaus und frei von wirtschaftlichen Interessen angegangen werden !
Das GKM ist eingebunden in das kapitalistische Wirtschaftssystem und trägt dazu bei, dass die Lebens- und Einkommensgrundlage von Menschen in Kolumbien und Russland zerstört wird. Die Menschen in den Kohleprovinzen leiden z.B. unter enormem Nahrungs- und Wassermangel, tragen gesundheitliche Schäden davon und werden zwangsumgesiedelt. All das ist nicht hinnehmbar, "die Menschen in Deutschland [müssen] sich bewusst werden, wo die Kohle herkommt, die sie konsumieren. Und über die Konsequenzen“ (kolumbianische Aktivistin Luz Angela Uriana Epiayu).
